To add to the list of craziness this week, I almost got towed a half hour ago. I got a verbal ass-whooping by the GDS security guy in the Safeway parking lot. Wee! |

I have been so busy the last few days, and I have so much stuff to do!
This weekend, visited Carleton and my sis/bro in Minnesota and the baby, cute! And I love Carleton. My host was amazing. And we chased little bunnies around campus and into halls, and the arriving prospies were all streaked by the streaking team. That school is fantastic, I'm excited.
Went to Chuck Levin's today, got some mics, was frustrated at being dumb, but ate a delicious tamale across the street. So it was all good.
First tech is tomorrow, I have to: Get batteries and spirit gum and test mics and blah blah blah
I missed two days of school and skipped classes today, I have to: Talk to all my teachers and catch up and make up tests and blah blah blah
Sarah is still sick, which is sad. Get better, now! If you don't come see Wolf Parade on Friday, I'll be sad.
I have to do the graphic for Krupin's that the guy wants, and the class of '06 thing.
And I have to find a summer job before Friday.
And senior paper? 4 pages written by today? What? Crazy talk, Louise. Crazy talk.
I'm not complaining, though. I love having things to do, it's my fave.
And 14 school days left. That's really scary and weird. This year flew by like mad. So did junior year, I think. But not this fast. So did freshman year. But not sophomore year. That year flew by like a penguin with concrete shoes. |

The most intense week of my life is about to begin.
Monday: Belle & Sebastian + New Pornographers concert
Tuesday: Senior Skip party madness
Wednesday: Senior Skip Day and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! concert at night
Thursday: Metric + Islands concert
Friday: Up for grabs!
Let's hope it goes without a hitch and I survive.
And I've already started it by staying up until 3am for absolutely no raisin...score. |

[Feb. 26th, 2006|03:00 am] |
The last few weeks have been fantastic. Maybe the best of my life. It feels like it's summer except way better, because I have fun things to do (I include school in this category, because when grades don't matter I really like school, I've found). Plus, my friends are here and I'm in love. Summer is always a bit depressing, but I'm loving this.
Last night, went to see Stars at the Black Cat with Ari, Miki and Eric. It was great, blah blah blah. The sound was perfect! I told the sound guy how well-mixed the show was, which I think he appreciated.
Tonight was the GDS Battle of the Bands, which I ran lights for. That was a lot of fun. I had entirely too much time making the lights sync with the music and all that. Then I made spitballs at people at American City Diner, and Ben and I rearranged the sign outside from "help wanted servers" to "we serv land sheep tr." we were proud of our lightning speed. Then much rapping and re-living the 90s and Bar Mitzvah songs at Struble's house.
...I was gonna make this post really deep and more of a personal diaryish private entry like I usually do, but it ended up sucking REALLY hard and not being interesting. So I'll let you guys read my boring, nerdy post. I guess I never do make public posts any more... |

hey all, seeing as next saturday is the saturday after exams, and my birthday (and very close to miko and laura's birthdays), we're going to be having people over at ari's house at about 8pm.
laura (m) was having something then too, but we thought it would be a lot better to combine them.
hope everyone can come, just rsvp here or tell me in person.
muchas gracias, amigos.

SO. LIFE IS FANTASTIC.
First off, the last three days were beautiful. Kayaking down Fort Reno was rockin, and I do love my friends dearly--nothing better than being dumb together. And to make a saturday perfect, finally getting some quality time with a certain ladyfriend, who makes me ridiculously happy.
AND MOST RECENTLY, I just got into Carleton, my ED. Which means that I'm going to college, and that I am DONE applying to college. !!! Carleton is amazing, and I'm rather excited about that.
And I love directing my one-act, because it's tons of fun. Like Cilla said, I love that I have this clay that I can mold into something that I love just watching and laughing at. |

I realized that I never wrote about the capital food fight event that me and ari went to on the 18th. i feel like that would be a good thing for the archives.
The capital food fight is dc central kitchen's biggest fundraiser of the year. basically, we just went to a super swanky fundraiser downtown, watched really good chefs battle, iron chef-style, and ate super swanky food. it was really really fun, but it felt a little weird partly because everyone there paid a lot of money to get in while we got in free, "vip status," because i'd made the program and posters for the event.
but it was really exciting for me, because it was the first time anything ive ever made has actually gotten out there, printed and distributed.

| | new pornographers | ] | a disclaimer: this post is really just so i can keep track of all the fun i had this weekend, and how much i love my friends.
friday, hanging out at p&p, distracting mariko from doing her hw. memorable quote #1: "we're not the peanut gallery. you know why, will? cuz we're not peanuts." hanging around with ari, going to harry's and not helping at all with the movie, realizing that both of my credit cards had gone missing. me and sarah laughing at absolutely nothing until 4am, drunk off sleepiness. memorable quote #2: "pfffffffff."
waking up later than expected, late to lights (which is ahead of schedule, woot), first chipotle meal in a week (!). come home, read paradise lost, fall asleep 40 lines in resulting in a 4 hour nap interrupted nicely by ari and max h who kidnap me for game night at adie's. go back home, work til 5am. this weekend has fucked with my biological clock so much.
and then today sort of sucked. i really want to just send off these college apps and get an acceptance letter and be done.
and the new pornographers are awesome. |

[Sep. 25th, 2005|02:57 am] |
today, me and my dad drove up to visit/interview at haverford, which was nice. i really like that place.
on the way back, we stopped at a rest stop. basically, im a dumbass. i locked the keys in the car, and we had to pay a very skillful exxon guy $60 to stick a wire in the door and attempt to push the switch for about a half hour. sneaky guy that i am, i took a picture:
please make fun of me, i totally deserve it
got back, one hour delayed, spontaneous desire to go to the pie tasting! super awesome, only got kicked in the head about 20 times. wish i could have brought a certain person to dance with.
also, six flags tomorrow. anyone want to come? i have tickets, which i may or may not give away, depending on whether this is gonna be a just-family thing or not. leave a comment if it's before noon sunday and you dig big roller coasters. |
